Adrienne & Billy: An Intimate Elopement in Engelberg

The year 2024 started in the most spectacular way for me, Simone: together with Maxi from Maxwellart Photography, another trusted Our Swiss Elopement partner, I had the honor of accompanying Adrienne and Billy for their elopement. The couple traveled all the way from Australia, just the two of them, to secretly exchange their vows in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. They had one wish – snow – and they certainly got it! Maxi and I suggested Trübsee and Mount Titlis as the perfect locations for their intimate ceremony, and they eagerly agreed.

A Chilly but Magical Ceremony

The day turned out to be even colder than we had anticipated. At Trübsee, despite the bright sunshine, a strong, biting wind swept across the snowy landscape. Our chosen spot was quite exposed, and the snow lay thick beneath our feet. Maxi, with fearless determination, tested the depth of the snow before we set up for the ceremony. Just as I began officiating, we had a brief moment of unexpected excitement – I took a small step backward and suddenly sank knee-deep into the snow! After the initial shock, we all burst into laughter, shaking off the surprise and continuing with the heartfelt vows and the long-awaited “I dos.”

Reaching New Heights at Mount Titlis

Of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to visit the summit, so we took the gondola up to Mount Titlis. For two Aussies from the flatlands, this was an unforgettable experience. The glacier cave, completely deserted at the time, gave us the perfect opportunity to take some incredible photos. However, Billy started turning visibly blue around the nose—he had left his warmest jacket back at the hotel, and the cold was beginning to take its toll!

A Joyful Après-Ski Celebration

As the day unfolded, we made our way back down the mountain and ended this incredible adventure at the après-ski bar at the base station. Adrienne, still in her wedding dress, turned quite a few heads as we celebrated their elopement with a warm drink called a "hot donkey" (yes, that’s the actual name!). After capturing one last selfie together, we safely delivered the lovebirds back to their hotel, where we shared a heartfelt goodbye, knowing this was a day none of us would ever forget.
